The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore (DPOB) strives to make Downtown a destination of choice for living, working, visiting, and investing. We are the connection to everything happening in the state’s largest business center, cultural district, and fastest-growing neighborhoods. We are the center of it all. We also oversee the Downtown Management Authority (DMA), Baltimore’s oldest and largest business improvement district (BID). DPOB's programs – including uniformed operations teams of Downtown Baltimore Guides, Clean Sweep Ambassadors, and Park Stewards – make the 106-block downtown district more attractive, vibrant, and hospitable.
We are looking for a Sr. Vice President of Operations for our corporate headquarters on South Charles Street. This role focuses on leading and optimizing all operational functions across the Operations department, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with corporate strategy and goals. The Sr. Vice President oversees operational efficiency, quality, and performance, with a focus on driving scalable processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring projects are completed. They will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to create and implement initiatives that support sustainable growth and innovation, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high-performance standards throughout the Operations department.
We’ll need you to
- Translate strategy into actionable goals and execution plans for meeting performance metrics.
- Set comprehensive goals and establish KPI’s to maintain accountability and measure success.
- Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
- Communicate openly and efficiently across all staff to ensure efficient coordination across teams.
- Build and maintain engagement of Admin and Operations teams.
- Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
- Implement a set of effective and efficient systems, including staffing and resource allocation, utilization tracking and reporting on financial targets.
- Strategically and proactively work with HR and the Leadership team to recruit qualified staff to plan for future needs.
- Build and encourage an environment of engaged high performing employees.
- Communicate strategic and tactical plans to all key stakeholders.
- Work with Senior Leadership to establish annual and strategic objectives.
- Establish and oversee process improvement initiatives, to drive continuous improvement.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing operations team by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and encouraging professional growth.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and empowerment, ensuring alignment with organizational values and vision.
- Assess and implement training programs to upskill team members, improving operational capabilities across all levels.
- Create regular reports and presentations that provide updates on the status of the Operations department.
- Identify potential risks to operational processes and implement controls to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity.
Is This You?
- Minimum of education or experience equal to a bachelor's degree in business. (master's degree a plus)
- Minimum of 10 years' experience ina senior operational leadership role.
- Experience improving efficiency and developing KPIs to drive operational and financial objectives.

- Demonstrated success working as an SVP, Chief of Staff, or related position that required management across multiple teams.
- Proven track record of knowledge sharing and workflow best practices that address key objectives and resulted in growth/scaling of an organization.

Position Type/Expected Work Hours
- This role works normal business hours with occasional evening and weekend work that may be required to complete work deadlines.
- Frequent participation in team meetings and collaborative sessions with a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration across various teams and departments.
- Travel: Frequent local travel is required, with occasional overnight and out of state travel for meetings, events, and site visits.
This full-time position offers a compensation range of $119,245 - $158,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
